This early gable is in the Holbol style with simple curved elements curving inward and outward. A simple shell element adorns the design.

2. HAZENDAL



This was one of the earliest gables at the Cape and is part of the early baroque style. It was softly curved with decorations that spill horizontally across the design.

3. VERGENOEGD



This baroque style gable is beautifully proportioned with gentle inward and outward curve shapes. It was one of the earlier gables to be built by the settlers.

4. STELLENBERG



This cape dutch gable is in the Neoclassical style, with a protruding middle section. It is privately owned and difficult to view.

5. VREDE EN LUST



This gable is located near Simonberg mountain and is also in the Neoclassical style with protruding central section.

6. BURGERHUIS



The building is located next to the Braak in Stellenbosch. A bit of a hybrid gable - the middle section is neoclassical but the frilly sides look more baroque.
