7. NEETHLINGSHOF
This cellar gable is finely articulated in the neoclassical style and includes unusual circular elements that are quite distinctive. Taking the photo at the right time of day helps to highlight the plaster work.

8. MORGENSTER
The swirls are typical of the baroque style. The plasterbands are very thick with a complex profile making them remmiscent of piping on a cake. The shell motif at the peak is only found during the baroque period and went out of fashion during the neoclassical period.
9. ZORGVLIET
This delicate neoclassical gable consists of soft lines with a triangular pediment at the top. The original gables have been copied at the 20th century spa buildings that have been built on the farm in recent years. .

10. LA DAUPHINE
A well-proportioned gable, the pillasters have light quoining into blocks that softens the entire normally more harsh neoclassical gable.

11. LANZERAC
Dated 1830, this is typical of the neoclassical style, the lightly fluted pilasters and the date are the only decorations on the surface of the gable. A number of urns add interest an air of opulence to the silhouette of the gable.

12. BABYLONSTOREN
Also a neoclassical gable, the one at Babylonstoren is quite beautiful as the soft curves harmonies with the more geometric columns. The pilasters are plain - without any fluting. Detail is provided in the elaborate scrolls at the base of the gable, and one urn-and-garland motif above the casement window. The gable has been beautifully restored and maintained, although the original shape is not actually known, and this is perhaps why it appeals to more modern sensibilities.
