10. NEETHLINGSHOF

One of the earliest buildings in Stellenbosch, the gables are actually straight - could this be the predecessor to the modern Cape Dutch gable? This beautiful farm has a restaurant, picnic area and playground.

15. BABYLONSTOREN



The historical farmstead has been beautifully maintained after the original gable had to be reconstructed with little knowledge of its original shape. Modern Cape Dutch style restaurant and organic gardens with views of Simonberg Mountain, make this a place you have to see on your travels to the fairest Cape.

16.GRANDE PROVENCE



As the name suggests, this is a grande home set amidst its own forest in the heart of the Franschhoek valley. Timber shutters are painted in a teal blue unique to the house.

Also in Franschhoek, the home has a sprawling garden and a cypress tree typical of the Cape Duch style and the mountains in the background make it unforgettable.
